Harari declares that one of the most important questions one can ask is whether all the developments in the field of science, economy etc over the centuries have made us happier. Just mentioning a few of my observations here:ġ.
However, it quickly became riddled with biases, assumptions, and contradictions. The coexistence of different human species at a single point in history, the annihilation of megafauna wherever Sapiens went, the sneak peek into the life of our hunter-gatherer ancestors, the concept of imagined realities: these readied me for an eye-opening journey through the book. However, it was disappointing on so many levels, especially with its promise of being a scholarly work. This book is a brave attempt at explaining the monumental journey of humankind in around four hundred pages only.
